The aim of the LSPS harmonized database is to promote the use of country datasets through comparable variables, with special emphasis on those variables that serve as input for evaluating public policies and answer research questions focused on the area social security. Therefore, the selection criteria for the variables harmonized is based on providing relevant information in the area of social security, and also when applicable, has concordance with other IDB harmonized datasets managed by the IDB.
