IDB Climate Finance Dataset 2024

This climate finance data dataset provides standardized, project-level information on Inter-American Development Bank, or IDB, operations approved in 2024. It includes climate finance shares tagged for mitigation, adaptation, and dual climate objectives, with breakdowns by financial instrument, sector, and approved project volume. The dataset is designed to improve transparency, comparability, and consistency in reporting across IDB divisions and reporting years. It aligns with multilateral development bank climate finance tracking methodologies and supports analysis of how IDB financing contributes to climate change mitigation and adaptation in Latin America and the Caribbean. Under the IDB Group Impact Framework 2024–2030, the IDB committed to a climate finance target of 45% of total approved volume. In 2024, the IDB met this target by approving US$5.6 billion in climate finance, accounting for 45% of its total approvals. This dataset covers IDB operations only. Total climate finance across the broader IDB Group, including IDB, IDB Invest, and IDB Lab, reached US$8.2 billion in 2024.
