Citizen security remains one of the most pressing development challenges facing low- and middle-income countries around the globe. In Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), for example—a region where homicide rates have consistently remained more than three times the global average (UNODC, 2023; InSight Crime, 2024)—crime and violence are estimated to cost approximately 3.4% of the region’s GDP (IDB, 2024), whereas research suggests that bringing the crime level in Latin America down to the world average would boost LAC’s average annual growth rate by 0.5 percentage points (IMF, 2023). This Evidence Gap Map (EGM) focuses on citizen security interventions led or supported by police agencies, and maps existing impact evaluations and systematic reviews that examine the effectiveness of a wide range of policing interventions aimed at reducing crime, violence, disorder, overall insecurity, and their associated risk factors and underlying determinants. This dataset presents standardized climate finance data for IDB operations approved in 2024. It includes project-level climate finance shares tagged for mitigation, adaptation, and dual objectives, with breakdowns by instrument type and sector. The database supports transparency, comparability across years and divisions, and aligns with MDB climate finance tracking methodologies. Under the IDB Group Impact Framework 2024–2030, the IDB committed to a climate finance target of 45% of total approved volume. In 2024, the IDB met this target, approving US $5.6 billion in climate finance, representing 45% of total approvals. Climate finance refers to financial resources committed to development projects and components that enable activities mitigating or adapting to climate change in developing and emerging economies. This dataset pertains specifically to the IDB. Climate finance for the entire IDB Group—which includes the IDB, IDB Invest (formerly IIC), and IDB Lab—totaled US $8.2...

The Citizen Survey on Government Transactions and Equity (2025) is a comparative measurement conducted in 11 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Its objective is to capture the experience of the adult population (18 years or older) with procedures involving public entities, including the channels used, the barriers encountered, and the assessment of the process. The sample is nationally representative for each country and takes into account key characteristics such as: - sex, - age - ethnicity - educational level - and urban or rural location. This survey enables the identification of common and divergent patterns in the access to and use of government services in the region.
