    This dataset was generated by the Knowledge team in the Inter-American Development Bank's Water and Sanitation division from publicly available information to allow for the characterization and comparison of tariff systems and subsidies. It contains data on residential drinking water supply and sanitation tariffs, and includes data on subsidies, tariff types, metering, and more. The tariff dataset has been simplified and made available to the public via the Water and Sanitation Observatory for Latin America and the Caribbean (OLAS), consistent with the OLAS goals to provide consistent, reliable, and updated data to understand the water and sanitation sector at the national and regional levels, within the framework of SDG 6.     A segurança cidadã continua a ser um dos desafios de desenvolvimento mais urgentes enfrentados por países de baixa e média renda em todo o mundo. Na América Latina e no Caribe (ALC), por exemplo — uma região onde as taxas de homicídio permaneceram consistentemente mais de três vezes acima da média global (UNODC, 2023; InSight Crime, 2024) —, estima-se que o crime e a violência custem aproximadamente 3.4% do PIB da região (BID, 2024), enquanto pesquisas sugerem que reduzir o nível de criminalidade na América Latina para a média mundial impulsionaria a taxa de crescimento anual média da ALC em 0.5 pontos percentuais (FMI, 2023).     O código R é usado para calcular e padronizar indicadores da folha de pagamento a partir de registros de pessoal em formato comum. Especificamente, ele fornece exemplos práticos para derivar cada indicador-chave (crescimento da massa salarial, crescimento do emprego, trajetórias salariais médias, equidade salarial, disparidade salarial de gênero, rotatividade, promoções/progressão na carreira e projeções de aposentadoria), para que os governos possam calcular essas medidas para toda a administração, para agências específicas ou para subgrupos de funcionários (ex.: por cargo, gênero, contrato). O código também ilustra os cálculos recomendados e ajuda a tratar erros comuns de dados, permitindo indicadores salariais comparáveis e reprodutíveis entre países.

    The Citizen Survey on Government Transactions and Equity (2025) is a comparative measurement conducted in 11 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Its objective is to capture the experience of the adult population (18 years or older) with procedures involving public entities, including the channels used, the barriers encountered, and the assessment of the process. The sample is nationally representative for each country and takes into account key characteristics such as: - sex, - age - ethnicity - educational level - and urban or rural location. This survey enables the identification of common and divergent patterns in the access to and use of government services in the region.

    Between 2023 and 2024, the IDB, in collaboration with the governments of seven countries, conducted surveys exclusively targeting users of public services. The objective was to measure the experience of different population groups with government services and assess the government’s readiness for digital service delivery. These surveys, nationally representative of the user population, represent an innovative effort by emphasizing the collection of information on key variables such as sex, age, ethnicity, disability status, urban/rural location, and educational level of individuals who use government services. The questionnaires gathered data on connectivity, ownership of digital assets, digital skills, transactions carried out and the experience with those transactions, awareness of digital public services, and experience with specific social transactions.
