    This benchmarking index is a learning tool that evaluates the legal, regulatory and operating environments for Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in transport, water/sanitation and electricity infrastructure for 19 Latin American and Caribbean countries. The analysis and scores in the model provide a comparable assessment of individual countries' readiness and facility for PPP project design and implementation. For the purpose of this index, PPP refers specifically to projects which involve a long-term contract between a public-sector body and a private-sector entity for the design, construction (or upgrading), operation and maintenance of public infrastructure; with finance usually provided by, and significant construction, operation and maintenance risks transferred to, the private-sector, which also bears either availability or demand risk; but with the public sector remaining responsible for policy oversight and regulation; and the infrastructure generally reverting to public-...

    The firms and individuals listed have been sanctioned for having engaged in fraudulent, corrupt, collusive, coercive or obstructive practices (collectively, Prohibited Practices), in violation of the IDB Group’s Sanctions Procedures and anti-corruption policies. Sanctions are meant to prevent and deter Prohibited Practices in IDB Group-financed activities.     The OLAS/SCL Household Survey Data Set contains 47 water and sanitation related indicators generated from microdata from national household surveys throughout the region. The data set contains information from 2003-2022 for 22 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Indicators are provided in terms of household percentage and total households that fall into each category, and can be broken down by various socioeconomic dimensions, including area (urban or rural community), income quintile, migratory status, ethnicity, and disability status. This dataset is the result of a collaboration between INE/WSA and SCL, and is a subset of the larger IDB SCL Indicators dataset.

    The OLAS Simplified GLAAS for LAC dataset provides information on water and sanitation governance in 30 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) from 2018 and 2021. The data is from the UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS), which is a global survey carried out by UN Water and the World Health Organization (WHO) that collects country-level information on provision of water, sanitation, and hygiene services. The survey covers topics like governance, monitoring, finance, and human resources in the sector. This simplified version of the dataset contains information relevant to WASH governance in LAC.
