Efficient and reliable transport systems are central to economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. In Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), transport and logistics performance remains below that of advanced economies, constraining access to services, social inclusion (Scholl et al., 2021), competitiveness, and productivity (Calatayud & Montes, 2021). The EGM, available at https://developmentevidence.3ieimpact.org/egm/transportation-evidence-gap-map, presents global effectiveness evidence on transportation interventions, including roads, regional transportation and logistics; urban mobility infrastructure; and laws, regulations, and policies governing public transit, mobility, traffic, and transportation. Financed and co-produced by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the EGM compiles, curates, and classifies studies that estimate causal effects, displaying where evidence is clustered and where gaps remain. It aims to help decision-makers...

Water and Sanitation Tariff Dataset This dataset, created by the Knowledge team in the IDB’s Water and Sanitation Division, compiles publicly available information to compare tariff systems and subsidies across Latin America and the Caribbean. It includes data on: - Residential drinking water and sanitation tariffs - Subsidies - Tariff types - Metering - Other sector details The dataset has been simplified and published through the Water and Sanitation Observatory (OLAS) to support its mission of providing consistent, reliable, and updated data for understanding the sector at both national and regional levels—aligned with SDG 6. Social Indicators of Latin America and the Caribbean is a diverse dataset of indicators designed to capture social conditions in Latin America and the Caribbean. The social indicators of development are derived from national household survey data, Censuses, and other sources, covering 21 countries from 1990 to the present. While the social indicators encompass traditional global metrics, the database also features tailor-made indicators in five areas to more accurately capture conditions in LAC. Those include: 1. Demographics 2. Education 3. Labor Market 4. Housing, and 5. Income Moreover, unlike traditional aggregate indicators, the social indicators are disaggregated by: - ethnicity and race (when available) - gender - geographic residence - education, and - income quintile. The indicators are not intended to serve as official data for any particular country but instead aim to provide a comparable set of social indicators for the Latin American region.

The OLAS Simplified GLAAS for LAC dataset provides information on water and sanitation governance in 30 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) from 2018 and 2021. The data is from the UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS), which is a global survey carried out by UN Water and the World Health Organization (WHO) that collects country-level information on provision of water, sanitation, and hygiene services. The survey covers topics like governance, monitoring, finance, and human resources in the sector. This simplified version of the dataset contains information relevant to WASH governance in LAC. Additional data can be found in the GLAAS Data Portal: https://glaas.who.int/ Source: WHO, UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water, 2018-19 and 2021-22, accessed April 2023. With acknowledgement of the countries in Latin America and the Caribbean who contributed to this survey.
