By Water and Sanitation Division (VPS/INE/WSA)
This dataset harmonizes water and sanitation data from household surveys from 26 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean covering 2003-2024. The dataset provides country-level, subregional, and regional values for key indicators on topics including water sources, continuity of access, water metering coverage, sanitation facilities, exclusivity, and alternatives to household sanitation installations. These topics are available at the national level and broken down by dimensions such as area (urban/rural), income, gender, and ethnicity. Data derived directly from the household survey are produced by a collaboration between the Social Division and Water and Sanitation Division’s Water and Sanitation Observatory for Latin America and the Caribbean (OLAS), while interpolation and regional estimates are generated by the OLAS.
