This dataset was generated by the Knowledge team in the Inter-American Development Bank's Water and Sanitation division from publicly available information to allow for the characterization and comparison of tariff systems and subsidies. It contains data on residential drinking water supply and sanitation tariffs, and includes data on subsidies, tariff types, metering, and more. The tariff dataset has been simplified and made available to the public via the Water and Sanitation Observatory for Latin America and the Caribbean (OLAS), consistent with the OLAS goals to provide consistent, reliable, and updated data to understand the water and sanitation sector at the national and regional levels, within the framework of SDG 6. For more information about this process and general trends in the dataset please see "How Much Do Households Pay for Water Supply and Sanitation Services in Latin America? A Descriptive Analysis of Tariffs and Subsidies in the Region."
